The competent Criminal Court has issued a 10-year prison sentence in presentia for an employee working at a government gas station in Nineveh province, following his conviction in financial corruption cases. According to investigations and judicial rulings, the convicted individual
was proven guilty of embezzling over one billion Iraqi dinars, representing the financial revenues from petroleum product sales at the station during previous periods. The court based its decision on sufficient evidence and proofs that warranted conviction under the provisions
of the penal code, as part of ongoing efforts to protect public funds and combat corruption within state institutions.
