Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari directed, on Monday (April 27, 2026), to open an investigation into a brawl incident between a citizen and a traffic police affiliate, during which an arrest operation was carried out by Najda police patrols in the Al-Mansour area of the capital, Baghdad.
Al-Shammari stated in an official statement that "the investigation comes to investigate the circumstances of the incident that occurred yesterday, Sunday, between a traffic affiliate and a civilian vehicle driver, and the arrest procedures carried out by Najda elements in the area."
The Minister of Interior affirmed "the necessity of accurately verifying the details of the incident, and taking all necessary legal measures against any party proven to be negligent, stressing that the ministry will not allow any behavior that deviates from the law, whatever its source."
