World Bank: Iraq's Economy to Lead Arab Growth in 2026

The World Bank, in its latest report, projects that Iraq's economy will register the highest growth rate among Arab nations in 2026, reaching an estimated 6.7%. This projection surpasses previous estimates, driven by improved macroeconomic performance indicators, as reported by Mada Al-Rafidain News.

The international financial report attributes this robust growth primarily to the gradual recovery of the energy sector, along with governmental initiatives to boost infrastructure investments and reconstruction projects, as well as improved performance in the agricultural and construction sectors.

The report also commended current governmental efforts to diversify national income sources away from total oil reliance, affirming that sustained structural reforms will enhance the Iraqi economy's resilience against external shocks.
