Wasit Police Thwarts Two Suicide Attempts by Young Men from the Top of Kut Barrage

The Wasit Governorate Police Command announced the success of its patrols in rescuing two young men who attempted to commit suicide by throwing themselves from the top of the Kut Barrage. The Command explained that police detachments intervened immediately and decisively in the final moments upon spotting the two incidents, enabling them to control the situation and prevent a tragedy. Security authorities confirmed that the two young men were referred to the Community Police Department to receive necessary support and to investigate the psychological or social motives that led them to attempt suicide, in preparation for taking the appropriate legal and humanitarian measures regarding their cases.
