The Dhi Qar Criminal Court issued a ten-year prison sentence against two individuals convicted of impersonating an advisor to the President of the Supreme Judicial Council. Official judicial sources reported that the convicts utilized the fraudulent title to extort financial
sums from a citizen in exchange for false promises to secure the release of his brother, who was incarcerated on narcotics-related charges. The court confirmed that the ruling was handed down in accordance with amended legal Decrees and applicable provisions
of the national Penal Code governing fraud and impersonation.
