Civil Defense Rescues 50 People and Extinguishes Fire in Baghdad's Karrada

Civil Defense teams successfully evacuated 50 citizens and extinguished a structural fire in the Karrada district of central Baghdad, with no human casualties reported. Official sources stated that dense smoke and toxic gases drifted toward an adjacent residential building, prompting the deployment of ten firefighting and rescue units, alongside a hydraulic ladder truck, to contain the blaze and prevent its further spread. Evacuation operations included rescuing trapped individuals, two of whom were trapped atop a telecommunications tower on the roof. Preliminary investigations indicated that the fire originated from oil buildup in a restaurant's exhaust ventilation duct before spreading to other areas of the building.
