The Adhamiya area in the capital, Baghdad, witnessed a tragic suicide incident on Saturday (May 2, 2026), involving a Ministry of Interior personnel while on duty. Security sources confirmed to Mada Al-Rafidain News that the personnel shot himself with his
personal weapon inside a guard post belonging to a mosque. Following the incident, which occurred simultaneously with the deployment of forces in the vicinity, competent security authorities rushed to launch an immediate investigation to uncover the motives and reasons that
led to this incident.
