A leading economic expert warned that current fiscal policies are aggravating citizens' suffering, particularly among low-income groups, noting that the growing reliance on domestic taxes and fees amid a fragile economy suffering from weak local production and declining imports will directly reflect in rising prices and deteriorating purchasing power. He affirmed that the absence of comprehensive economic planning and accumulating financial deficits are pushing the government to adopt "questionable" financial measures, including transferring 99% of government departments' revenues to the Ministry of Finance, which hinders private sector growth and deepens the economic crisis. He stressed the need for a national dialogue to reform the financial system rather than imposing further burdens on citizens.
