Severe Dust Wave to Hit Iraq Next Friday.. Warnings of Sharp Visibility Decline

The General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring predicted that the country will be exposed to a severe dust wave starting next Friday, which will be most intense in desert and exposed areas. The weather forecast report indicated that the wave is caused by the push of a moderate air mass accompanied by active northwesterly winds ranging between 50 and 60 km/h, leading to a significant decline in horizontal visibility to less than one kilometer in some areas. The effects of dust are expected to extend less intensely to other regions during the late hours of Friday, with continued wind and dust activity in central and southern regions during Saturday daytime. The authority called on citizens, especially drivers on external roads and patients with allergies and asthma, to take necessary precautions and beware of the wave's effects.
