President of the Republic Affirms Support for the Prime Minister-Designate in Forming a Competent Ministerial Cabinet

President of the Republic Nizar Amedi affirmed today, Wednesday (May 6, 2026), his support for the Prime Minister-designate in selecting a competent ministerial cabinet. The Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement that the President received at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, a delegation from the Parliamentary Investment and Development Committee, which offered congratulations on the occasion of assuming the office of President of the Republic. The statement added that the meeting discussed ways to develop the investment reality in the country, where the President affirmed the importance of supporting economic development plans and preparing an attractive investment environment, pointing to the necessity of removing obstacles facing investors and enhancing partnership between the public and private sectors. Regarding the formation of the new government, the President affirmed, according to the statement, the importance of supporting the Prime Minister-designate in choosing a competent ministerial cabinet that relies on criteria of integrity, experience, and independence, in line with citizens' aspirations for progress and prosperity.
