The Iranian Foreign Minister announced his country's welcome of Russian support for the diplomatic track regarding the current crisis and dialogue with the United States, confirming the continuation of strategic engagement with Moscow at the highest levels.
The minister stated in a social media post following his visit to Russia and meeting with the Russian President in Saint Petersburg: "We welcome Russia's support for the diplomatic track."
He added: "Amid fundamental and fateful transformations witnessed by the region, our engagement with Russia continues at the highest levels," noting that recent developments have highlighted the depth and strength of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
For his part, the Russian Foreign Minister announced that his country's position calls for halting all military operations and beginning work to reach an agreement, describing the bilateral talks as "fruitful."
The Russian President had affirmed during the meeting his country's readiness to do everything necessary to achieve a balance that serves the interests of Iran and the region, emphasizing that Russia will work diligently to establish peace in the Middle East as soon as possible.
