Minister of Water Resources Muthanna Al-Tamimi confirmed that Iraq's water reserves are at reassuring levels and witnessing noticeable improvement, indicating that water resource management is subject to strict monitoring to ensure optimal use and prevent waste. This came during an
inspection visit to Nineveh Governorate, where he reviewed the progress of work at the Mosul Dam. He confirmed that the safety and security indicators of the dam are excellent, revealing plans to contract with international companies to prepare studies to
evaluate options for maintaining the dam and addressing the Badush Dam file. The Minister praised the urban renaissance underway in the city of Mosul, calling on relevant authorities to cooperate in implementing consumption rationalization policies to ensure water security and
achieve sustainable development, stressing that major strategic projects, such as the Al-Jazeera irrigation project, are given top priority within government plans.
