The Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced its progress in establishing an integrated labor market information system, in cooperation and coordination with several ministries, as well as public and private entities. Deputy Minister Huda Sajjad confirmed that the
new system will cover all provinces and aims to unify data, regularize informal labor, and provide a clear vision of market needs to reduce unemployment rates and limit reliance on foreign labor. She explained that the current social security database
does not reflect the true size of the workforce, necessitating the alignment of technical and vocational education outcomes with actual market demands. She noted that the current employment platform hosts hundreds of thousands of job seekers, and this system will
systematically channel national talent toward available opportunities.
