BAGHDAD - Mada Al-Rafidain News:
The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced on Thursday a 72-hour extension of the complete closure of the country's airspace.
The total closure applies to all incoming, outgoing, and transiting flights across Iraqi airspace.
The extension is effective from 12:00 PM local time (09:00 GMT) on Thursday, March 19, 2026, and will remain in force until 12:00 PM on Sunday.
The Authority stated that this decision serves as a temporary precautionary measure, based on the continuous assessment of the regional security situation.
It also confirmed that the closure period is subject to review and reassessment depending on any new developments in the region.
