Official sources within the Iraqi Ministry of Oil revealed that Baghdad might resort to exploring available options if it does not receive a significant increase in its production quota within OPEC, amid a severe financial crisis caused by declining oil
exports and the repercussions of recent regional tensions. The sources indicated that the current approach focuses on remaining within the organization while demanding a quota commensurate with the country's production capabilities, rather than withdrawing. These efforts coincide with a partial
resumption of production by foreign oil companies after previous halts, and the signing of international memorandums of understanding to end conflicts. Iraq, which relies almost entirely on oil revenues, hopes to restore normal export levels soon to alleviate economic pressures
and secure public budget revenues.
