International reports specializing in security affairs have highlighted a strategic flaw in the structure of the Iraqi air defense system, warning that national airspace has become vulnerable to military breaches. The reports clarified that recent security shifts and the transformation
of the country's sky into a corridor for projectiles and drones during the latest regional escalation have revealed a clear fragility in defensive and radar capabilities. This weakness is attributed to the reliance on short-range and disconnected systems, as well
as the division in security management and the lack of unified coordination between the center and the Kurdistan Region. Military experts stressed that continuing to restrict defensive coverage to protecting specific facilities or areas over others represents a direct infringement
on national sovereignty, calling for immediate action to build an integrated air defense network to spare the country from paying heavy strategic costs in the future.
