Government Advisor: Iraq on the Verge of Structural Economic Transformations Under a Comprehensive Development Vision

The Prime Minister's Advisor for Financial Affairs, Mudher Muhammad Salih, confirmed that Iraq is entering a pivotal transitional phase that reshapes the philosophy of the country's financial management based on the directives of Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi. The advisor explained that the Ministerial Council for the Economy will take a leading role in formulating long-term development policies, transforming the Ministry of Finance from an executive entity for dispensing salaries into a sovereign institution leading economic reform in accordance with the "Iraq 2035" vision. He added that the plan includes enhancing the partnership between the public and private sectors and expanding financial oversight to include the industrial and agricultural sectors. He also highlighted the high-level coordination with the independent Central Bank of Iraq to achieve monetary and financial stability and improve citizens' living standards.
