The Iraqi security leadership has warned that the country's security and stability are a red line that cannot be compromised, vowing to take strict and resolute legal measures against any attempts to spread hate speech or incite sectarianism.
Lieutenant General Saad Maan, head of the Security Media Cell, confirmed that security and intelligence agencies are closely monitoring suspicious activities broadcasted across certain digital platforms around the clock. He emphasized that freedom of expression will not serve as a
cover for threatening civil peace, and the law will be firmly applied to anyone adopting inflammatory rhetoric without exception.
The security statement noted that the Iraqi people have historically proven their immunity against divisive attempts, urging everyone to demonstrate national responsibility and stand united to protect Iraq's unity and consolidate its security, building upon the sacrifices of the security forces.
These warnings come amid escalating security and political tensions locally and regionally. According to reports by Mada Al-Rafidain News, these developments coincide with repeated attacks attributed to armed factions against military sites housing US forces.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi authorities reaffirm their commitment to restricting arms to the state and preventing the country from sliding into internal crises.
