Diyala Local Government Appeals to Prime Ministry to Resolve Delayed Contract Salaries

The Diyala Provincial Council submitted an urgent request to the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Finance to settle the overdue salaries of over 7,000 government contract workers in the governorate. Council Chairman Omar Al-Karawi stated that the official intervention follows peaceful demonstrations organized by contract personnel protesting eight months of unpaid compensation. Al-Karawi expressed full solidarity with the workers' legitimate demands, stressing the necessity of expediting the release of their financial entitlements in line with other Iraqi governorates.
