The specialized committee for the destruction of narcotics and psychotropic substances, under direct judicial supervision, announced the destruction of large quantities of seized drugs within the forensic medicine department in Basra Governorate. The operation was conducted with high-level coordination with
health and security authorities and involved the destruction of approximately 240 kilograms of various illicit drugs, in addition to thousands of banned pills and dozens of bottles containing misused medical narcotics. This step comes as a continuation of strict legal
procedures aimed at destroying confiscated items and drying up the sources of drugs to protect health and societal security.
