Traffic Directorate Announces Reduced Transaction Times and Faces Challenges of Vehicle Overpopulation

The General Traffic Directorate confirmed that formal transactions are now completed in a record time of under half an hour. However, it highlighted significant challenges posed by the massive surge in vehicle numbers, which have surpassed the seven million mark nationwide. The Directorate explained that this increase places immense pressure on road infrastructure, noting that its committees are actively addressing accident hotspots. It also reported a decline in the use of mobile phones while driving, emphasizing that excessive speed remains the primary cause of accidents, and reaffirmed its commitment to the smart camera and radar project to curb violations.
