South Gas Company: Processing 80 Million SCF Per Day, Bin Umar Project Goes Beyond a Mere Pipeline

The South Gas Company categorically denied today, Friday (May 1, 2026), claims describing the gas project at the Bin Umar field as "merely laying a 5 km pipeline," providing a comprehensive technical clarification on the project's scope. The company confirmed that the new system is designed to utilize previously flared gas, with a processing capacity of up to 80 million standard cubic feet per day, to produce large quantities of dry gas feeding power stations, in addition to hundreds of tons of liquid gas and thousands of barrels of condensates. The company relied on production meter readings showing an increase of 100 million SCF, inviting all media parties to visit the field and directly observe operations rather than circulating fragmented and misleading information.
