A new round of official talks has commenced between the Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to settle outstanding financial files, most notably the employee salaries crisis and the region's financial dues. A high-ranking KRG delegation arrived in
the capital, Baghdad, to hold extensive meetings with officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Board of Supreme Audit. The meetings' agenda is topped by the issue of securing employee salaries and discussing mechanisms for implementing the Financial
Management Law regarding the handover of non-oil revenues. The two parties are also discussing points of contention regarding the customs automation system and tariff unification, seeking a consensus that guarantees the rights of both sides and the national interest.
