Decisive Government Decisions Package Encompassing Oil, Energy, and Customs Sectors

rafidainscope - Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi chaired the fifteenth regular session of the Council of Ministers, where a package of strategic and vital decisions was approved. The resolutions included adopting new mechanisms for purchasing and exporting Iraqi oil through specialized companies with specific discounts, alongside approving projects to rehabilitate and expand oil terminals to ensure supply stability. In the electricity sector, the council ratified the update of Request for Proposal (RFP) documents for the power distribution sector. The council also mandated the implementation of an advanced electronic payment system for customs duties via the "ASYCUDA" system by October 2026, in addition to allocating funds to support the Ministry of Health, developing border crossings, and approving the signing of new international cooperation agreements.
