Reopening of the Rehabilitated Shalamcheh Border Crossing to Accommodate Visitors

The Border Ports Authority inaugurated the new site of the Shalamcheh border crossing, connecting Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, following a comprehensive reconstruction and rehabilitation campaign. The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking parliamentary, governmental, and security officials. This initiative aims to enhance readiness for receiving visitors and facilitating commercial exchange in accordance with modern international standards. The rehabilitation works included the development of infrastructure, as well as administrative and service facilities, to reduce congestion and reinforce security and organizational aspects, aligning with the strategic plan to upgrade the country's land borders.
