Medical sources reported the death of one citizen and injuries to 17 others following various traffic accidents in the provinces of Baghdad, Diyala, Dhi Qar, Anbar, and Nineveh during the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday. The sources clarified
that the injured include security personnel, civil servants, women, and children, noting that three cases are currently in intensive care due to their critical condition. These accidents are primarily attributed to excessive speeding, improper overtaking, and poor adherence to traffic
regulations. They coincide with the usual heavy traffic and increased intercity travel during the holidays, prompting calls for stricter traffic enforcement and improved road infrastructure.
