In a move described as the most ambitious in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia announced, according to Mada Al-Rafidayn News monitoring, the establishment of "NEOM Digital" as the world's first free zone specialized in artificial intelligence and sixth-generation (6G) technologies.
The new city aims to provide an exceptional regulatory environment to attract startups and tech giants to develop solutions in smart cities, autonomous transport, and robotics. Analysts believe the project could transform the concept of free zones from focusing on
trade and logistics to focusing on technological innovation and the knowledge economy.
