The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed its progress in implementing the national initiative to construct one million housing units across all provinces, excluding the Kurdistan Region. This will be achieved by allocating non-productive lands located near urban centers. The Ministry heavily
emphasized its strict adherence to government resolutions that prohibit the bulldozing of agricultural lands and orchards, specifically Resolution No. 50 of 2016, ensuring that urban expansion projects do not interfere with productive agricultural activities. Relevant authorities stated that the implementation
involves high-level coordination between the Ministries of Agriculture and Housing, alongside local governments and the Agricultural Lands Department, to survey and designate appropriate locations for distribution to eligible citizens in accordance with established legal frameworks.
