Launch of Electronic Bracelet System to Regulate Financial Transactions in Correctional Facilities

The Ministry of Justice announced the completion of the first phase of the electronic bracelet project designed to regulate financial transactions for prison inmates. This phase included issuing thousands of bracelets linked to electronic payment cards in cooperation with the banking sector. The new system aims to digitize buying and selling operations within correctional facilities with high transparency, contributing to price control and preventing manipulation. The Ministry confirmed its intention to expand the project to include all inmates, paving the way to generalize this pioneering experience to other institutions to elevate the correctional work environment.
