The Security and Defense Committee in the Iraqi Parliament has revealed strenuous efforts to include clauses within the general budget that would allow for the absorption of applicants to security sectors who have completed vetting procedures. The committee affirmed its
endeavor to utilize these human resources to enhance the capabilities of the Ministry of Interior and other security institutions. It pointed to a general trend towards permanentizing contract workers, which requires legislative remedies within the budget law to address shortages
in security personnel and provide employment opportunities.
