Iran Presents New Proposal to Settle Dispute with Washington

Informed sources reported, on Monday (April 27, 2026), that Iran has delivered a new settlement proposal to the United States that includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending the war, in exchange for postponing nuclear negotiations.

An informed source stated that "diplomacy between Tehran and Washington has reached a dead end, amid divisions within the Iranian leadership regarding the extent of possible nuclear concessions," pointing out that "the new proposal aims to overcome current disputes and reach a quick agreement."

According to sources, any "agreement that includes lifting sanctions and ending the war may weaken American pressure cards in any future negotiations related to removing Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium or pushing it to suspend enrichment operations, which are among the most prominent goals sought by Washington."

In the same context, sources reported that "US President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a meeting in the White House Situation Room today, in the presence of his senior national security and foreign policy advisors, to discuss the stalemate in negotiations with Iran and the available options."

This comes amid escalating tension in the negotiations file, following the visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Pakistan without achieving noticeable progress, and amid reports about the cancellation of anticipated meetings between the two sides, after Trump described them as having no benefit at the present time.
