The Federal Commission of Integrity has issued an official call to Iraqi tribes to play a decisive societal role in confronting corruption by boycotting those involved in corruption cases and socially ostracizing them, thereby bolstering the path of administrative reform and entrenching the rule of law. The Commission emphasized the importance of synergistic efforts between state institutions and various societal entities to protect public funds, urging tribes to act as a formidable barrier refusing to provide any social cover or protection for the corrupt. Government bodies praised the historical role of tribes in preserving civil peace and combating terrorism, calling for this national legacy to be leveraged in establishing values of transparency and cleansing the administrative system. Joint discussions resulted in the formulation of an "Honor Pact" draft, which underscores support for regulatory and judicial bodies and encourages competence and integrity in assuming leadership positions, free from nepotism and illegal interference.
