The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the execution of complex attacks using missiles and drones targeting US military sites and bases in the region, in a move described as retaliation for assaults on an Iranian oil tanker and
a communications tower on Qeshm Island. The operations included Iranian naval forces targeting a vessel near the Strait of Hormuz, coinciding with aerospace strikes that hit an airbase, helicopters, and the US Fifth Fleet center. The IRGC warned that compromising
the security of the Strait of Hormuz would cost the United States a heavy price, vowing harsher responses to any hostile action. In connection with the escalating security tensions, Bahrain, the UAE, and Kuwait announced the closure of their airspaces
and the temporary suspension of air navigation as precautionary measures to ensure aviation safety in the region.
