Security authorities in Basra Governorate announced that civil defense teams successfully controlled and fully extinguished a fire that broke out in a private yard designated as a rest area for heavy vehicle drivers in the Umm Qasr sub-district. Competent authorities
clarified that the incident resulted in the burning of several mobile units (caravans), with losses limited to material damage and no human casualties recorded. Preliminary investigations indicated that an electrical short circuit was the direct cause of the fire, confirming
that the incident was accidental and carries no criminal suspicion.
