Finance Minister Faleh Sari confirmed that the 2027 general budget draft will witness a strategic shift towards implementing a "Program and Performance Budget," aiming to link government spending to developmental goals and measurable outcomes, thus moving beyond traditional item-based methods.
This announcement was made during an extensive workshop organized by the Ministry and attended by government sector representatives to explain the mechanisms of the gradual transition and institutional capacity building. The Minister emphasized the importance of formulating a budget that
reflects state priorities and aligns with the financial and administrative reform trajectories aimed at enhancing the efficiency of public financial management and improving service quality.
