The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced the discovery of a massive, intact Pharaonic tomb on the West Bank of Luxor, dating back to the 18th Dynasty and containing hundreds of rare artistic and golden artifacts untouched for
thousands of years. This discovery, made by a joint Egyptian-German excavation mission, represents one of the most significant archaeological and artistic finds of the current decade, given the exceptional preservation of its colorful murals, intricate wooden sculptures, and masterfully painted
details of daily life. The Ministry explained in a global press conference that the tomb belongs to a high priest of the god Amun and contains over 400 "Ushabti" statues meticulously crafted from blue faience, a collection of wooden sarcophagi
decorated with bas-reliefs inlaid with solid gold, as well as musical instruments and papyri featuring unprecedented ornate funerary texts. Specialized technical teams have immediately begun careful restoration and 3D documentation processes using the latest technologies and laser scanning to ensure
the safety of these precious artistic treasures, in preparation for their transfer and display in a dedicated hall at the Grand Egyptian Museum later this year.
