Destruction of Massive Quantities of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in Baghdad

Health authorities and competent judicial bodies announced the destruction of approximately 106 kilograms of narcotics and over 22,000 psychotropic pills, along with quantities of liquid substances and ampoules, at the Forensic Medicine Directorate in Baghdad. The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Supreme National Authority for Drug Affairs. The destruction took place in specialized incinerators reaching temperatures of 1,000 degrees Celsius to ensure the complete eradication of the materials, turning them into ash free of any chemical trace. Relevant authorities emphasized their ongoing efforts to implement the government's program aimed at combating the drug epidemic as a top national priority to protect society.
