Judicial authorities have issued a death sentence against an individual convicted of belonging to terrorist organizations, following proven involvement in a series of criminal operations. Investigations and evidence confirmed that the convict converted his blacksmith workshop in the city of
Mosul into a secret cache for light and medium weapons, improvised explosive devices, and explosive materials to provide logistical support to armed gangs. Facts revealed his active participation with his terrorist group in targeting security forces and military convoys, as
well as planning and executing assassinations against officers and personnel. He was also convicted of preparing and detonating a car bomb in a residential neighborhood, which resulted in a number of civilian casualties, including deaths and injuries. The court substantiated
his participation in previous armed attacks, including involvement in storming a major prison, leading to the smuggling of detainees and the killing of numerous inmates. The just verdict was issued in accordance with the provisions of the effective anti-terrorism law.
