Coordination Framework Sets Criteria for Selecting Security Ministry Leaders in Next Government

A member of the Coordination Framework ruled out a civilian figure managing the security ministries in the next government, confirming the existence of initial understandings regarding the criteria that should be available in candidates for these sensitive portfolios. He explained that the nature of these ministries requires personalities with specialized military and security backgrounds, as managing complex security files requires accumulated experience, strategic vision, and the ability to deal with security challenges at various levels. He indicated that there is an initial agreement among political forces on three basic criteria that candidates must meet: possessing a military and security background, having political independence, and being known for their national track and enjoying political acceptance and consensus. He pointed out that an important meeting will be held to discuss the security ministries file, expecting decisive developments that may lead to resolving the candidates' names and determining the date of the confidence-granting session for the new government.
