Tehran Denies Technical Talks in Doha Amid Reports of Continued De-escalation Negotiations

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has denied circulating reports regarding the holding of technical talks for working groups in the Qatari capital, Doha. Tehran emphasized that despite ongoing consultations with the Qatari side to monitor the commitments of the involved parties, reports of technical meetings at this time are inaccurate. Conversely, international reports indicated efforts to hold upcoming meetings between US and Iranian officials in Doha, which were originally scheduled in Switzerland, to focus on developments in the Strait of Hormuz. Official sources noted that discussions regarding the implementation of memorandums of understanding between Washington and Tehran are proceeding as planned despite recent escalations, aiming to ensure freedom of navigation in the strait. This follows previous international meetings that resulted in the formation of working committees to discuss the nuclear program, sanctions, and a ceasefire.
