rafidainscope - The Council of Ministers decided to zero customs duties imposed on imported solar energy systems, in a move aimed at reducing acquisition costs and encouraging citizens to use them to alleviate loads on the national grid.
The Ministry of Electricity stated that the decision came following an official proposal submitted by the Minister of Electricity to lift customs duties on solar systems and their components.
In a parallel step, the ministry prepared a draft of instructions to regulate connecting solar systems to the national electrical grid, including provisions regulating connection mechanisms and energy exchange using smart meters, contributing to lower electricity bills and enhanced reliance on renewable energies.
