Baghdad Operations Command Removes River Encroachments and Closes Illegal Fish Ponds

Units from the Baghdad Operations Command, in coordination with Ministry of Water Resources personnel, executed a field campaign to clear illegal encroachments on rivers and irrigation canals in Tarmiyah, north of Baghdad. The operation resulted in the dismantling and backfilling

of 11 unauthorized fish ponds to preserve official agricultural water quotas, minimize resource waste, and enforce environmental and regulatory compliance.
