Azzam Al-Hamdani, spokesman for the Al-Azm Alliance, welcomed on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) the visit of Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani to Baghdad, considering it an important national step that enhances the path of partnership and dialogue among political forces.
Al-Hamdani stated that the visit represents a positive initiative to support political understandings, and pave the way for forming the upcoming federal government headed by Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, which contributes to consolidating political and social stability and building state institutions.
He added that the current stage requires enhancing dialogue between the upcoming federal government and the region, to address outstanding files between the two parties, noting that regional challenges necessitate adopting dialogue as a fundamental option to overcome crises.
He affirmed that achieving national unity of position requires forming a participatory government based on balance in rights and duties, and prioritizing the supreme national interest, ensuring the participation of all political forces in decision-making.
Nechirvan Barzani's visit is seen as an important step to reactivate dialogue channels, especially in disputed files such as oil, budget, and powers, which supports the path of forming a balanced government.
