UAE Official Asserts Loss of Trust with Iran, Rejects Attempts to Infringe on Sovereignty

Anwar Gargash, the Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President, asserted that a lack of trust is the prevailing feature of relations with Iran. He emphasized that restoring this trust and normalizing relations with the Arab world requires a genuine, practical commitment to the principles of good neighborliness and respect for national sovereignty, rather than mere rhetoric.

In his statements, Gargash pointed to the persistent contradiction between Iran's hostile regional behavior and its diplomatic statements, noting that these practices have eroded credibility over decades.

Addressing recent developments, the UAE official described attempts to impose a new reality as the result of a military setback. He firmly stated that any Iranian efforts to control strategic maritime routes like the Strait of Hormuz or to infringe upon UAE territorial waters and sovereignty are unrealistic and will not succeed.
