Trade Ministry Updates Services Profile to Advance Iraq’s WTO Accession

The Iraqi Ministry of Trade, through its Department of Foreign Economic Relations, announced the initiation of updates to its initial services offer as part of completing the technical requirements for Iraq’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Technical committees held meetings alongside representatives from relevant ministries and in coordination with the International Trade Centre (ITC) to revise profiles covering health, cultural, sports, and business services. This measure aligns with WTO member requirements to liberalize service sectors, attract foreign direct investment, and promote economic transparency.
