Tehran Accuses IAEA of Politicizing Oversight Measures on its Nuclear Program

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi asserted that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is moving toward politicizing the oversight mechanisms imposed on the Iranian nuclear program. In an official statement, Gharibabadi warned against turning the agency's technical reports into tools for political pressure, emphasizing that such actions do not serve efforts to reach diplomatic solutions. He clarified that the agency's diminished ability to monitor certain facilities is not due to a lack of Iranian cooperation, but rather the result of military strikes targeting those sites. The Iranian official accused the agency of attempting to exploit the fallout from recent attacks to create an artificial ambiguity regarding the nature of his country's nuclear program.
