Ministry of Water Resources Directs Technical Solutions to Enhance Irrigation Systems in Salah Al-Din

The Minister of Water Resources conducted a field tour in the Balad and Dujail districts of Salah Al-Din Governorate to assess water services and the challenges facing the irrigation sector. The visit included meetings with tribal leaders and local officials to listen to citizens' demands. The Minister directed the implementation of urgent technical measures, including addressing the rise in groundwater levels, replacing certain water infrastructure to improve flow, and converting some open drains into piped systems to reduce pollution. The directives also included lining the western Ishaqi canal to minimize water loss, repairing specialized equipment, and supplying the Dujail district with modern machinery to ensure ongoing maintenance and the clearing of canals and drains.
