The United Kingdom welcomed Ali Al-Zaidi's appointment as Prime Minister of Iraq, confirming its aspiration for close cooperation with the new government.
The British Ambassador to Iraq stated in a social media post that "the United Kingdom welcomes the appointment of a new Prime Minister in Iraq."
He added: "We wish Ali Al-Zaidi success in forming a new government at a rapid pace," noting that his country "looks forward to working with the new government on the pressing challenges facing Iraq, particularly in the fields of security and economy."
