Life Imprisonment for Four Convicts Caught with Nearly 6 Kilograms of Narcotics in Maysan

Maysan Criminal Court announced today (Thursday, April 30, 2026) that it has issued a life imprisonment sentence against four convicts caught with nearly 6 kilograms of narcotic substances. The judiciary's media stated in an official statement that the court issued a life imprisonment sentence against four drug dealers for the crime of trafficking in narcotic substances. It added that the convicts were found in possession of a quantity amounting to 5 kilograms and 700 grams of methamphetamine narcotic substance, with the intent to trade and sell it among addicts. According to the statement, the sentence was issued against them based on the provisions of Article 27/I of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017 and by virtue of the complicity articles 47, 48, and 49 of the Penal Code.
