Iraqi-Turkish Talks in Ankara to Resume Oil Exports and Expand Cooperation

A high-level Iraqi government delegation held official talks in the Turkish capital, Ankara, to discuss the future of the Iraq-Turkey pipeline agreement and the resumption of oil exports. The visit featured intensive technical and legal meetings between officials from the Iraqi Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Oil, and Natural Resources, and their counterparts in the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. The meetings focused on establishing the necessary mechanisms to ensure the continuous flow of Iraqi oil, including oil from the Kurdistan Region, to achieve mutual interests. The understandings led to a consensus on drafting an executive protocol in the upcoming period, paving the way for a new strategic agreement between the two countries within a year of the current agreement's expiration.
